What happens if your Pin gets reported?

What if Pinterest makes a mistake?

What you're allowed to post

To keep Pinterest a place that everyone can enjoy, we don’t allow:

  • Things that are inappropriate for the general public, like sexually explicit or pornographic Pins

  • Hateful Pins or language that attacks a protected group or individual

  • Anything that promotes mental, emotional or physical harm to yourself, others or animals

We do allow works of art and educational Pins, like you might see in a museum or classroom, on Pinterest. We also think Pinterest is a great place for discussing controversial or personal issues, but we ask that you be respectful and kind in the process.

For more info, please read our acceptable use policy.

Pins on secret boards

Our policies apply to both secret and public boards. When we remove a Pin from Pinterest, we also remove it from any secret boards it’s on.

What happens if your Pin gets reported?

If your Pin goes against our policies, we’ll remove it from Pinterest. If it happens again, we may remove one of your boards or suspend your account. We’ll always send you an email if we have to remove your stuff.

What if Pinterest makes a mistake?

We review all reports manually, but occasionally we make mistakes. We’re really sorry if this ever happens to you! To let us know we messed up:

  1. Email our help team
  2. Choose My Account -> Appeals -> Policy Notice under "What do you need help with?"
