Pinterest doesn't recognize your email or password

If you're seeing this error when you log in, then you're not entering in the right email and password combination that we have for your account:

Sorry, we don't recognize that email or password. Please try again!

If you forgot your password:

  1. Click Forgot your password? from the login page
  2. Enter in the email address on your account
  3. Check your inbox for an email to reset your password

If you entered in the wrong email address:

  1. Click Forgot your password? from the login page
  2. Enter in the email address you think is correct
  3. If we don't have an account under that email, you'll see: That email address doesn't have an associated user account. Are you sure you've registered?
  4. If you entered in the right address, you'll see: Success! You should receive an email shortly.

No account associated with your email

If you're seeing this error when you try to reset your password, then you might be typing in the wrong address:

That email address doesn't have an associated user account. Are you sure you've registered?

You may have made a typo in your email address when you joined:

  1. Log in with the typo'd address and your password
  2. Once you're logged in, make sure your email is correct on your account settings

Common typos during sign up are:

You might be logging in with an alias of your email (ex: an email that forwards to a different address):

  1. Check the recipient field of one of the emails you got from pinbot@pinterest.com
  2. Log in with that exact address

Common aliases are:

  • Gmail addresses with periods, ex: pin.terest@gmail.com. Make sure you log in with the exact email you signed up with.
  • School forwarding addresses. If you signed up with @school.edu, but your email is now @alumni.school.edu, you'll still need to log in with @school.edu.

If you still can't log in

If your account is connected to Facebook or Twitter:

  1. Click Login with Facebook or Login with Twitter from the login page
  2. Make sure your email is correct on your account settings

Otherwise:

  1. Click Email Help at the bottom of this page
  2. Send us your first and last name and any possible usernames you might have signed up with
  3. Include a link to your Pinterest profile, if you know it
  4. List any of the email addresses you might have used when joining Pinterest
  5. Send us your Facebook or Twitter account if you've linked them to Pinterest

Keep getting logged out

You probably don't have cookies turned on in your browser. Make sure you enable them so your login session on Pinterest (and other sites!) is saved while you browse.

If you're not sure how to manage cookies, we recommend doing a search for how to turn on cookies in your specific browser (ex: Internet Explorer, Firefox).

Sometimes, people have trouble staying logged in if the clock on their computer or phone isn't set to the correct date and time. Check that your clock is set correctly, and choose the option to have your clock set automatically, if you can.
